In the impoverished Thai region of Isan, shamanism is a vital part of spiritual life. When young Ming starts to behave strangely after her father’s burial, most townsfolk are convinced that a nature deity has taken possession of her, and that she is well on her way to becoming a shaman. Too late, first doubts arise that she might be possessed by something else entirely. Korean screenwriter Na Hong-jin (The Wailing) and Thai genre specialist Banjong Pisanthanakun (Shutter) unleash a raging, intelligent, frightening horror thriller.
