A somewhat anachronistic Canadian family of trappers notices the return of a rogue wolf to their hunting grounds. When father Joseph finds several mutilated bodies in the woods, he starts to doubt that an animal is responsible. Hunter Hunter is a sharply focused, vigorously executed game of cat and mouse (or rather, human and wolf), in which B-list actors like Devon Sawa and Nick Stahl are given a chance to shine. The unforgettable finale, however, belongs to lead actor Camille Sullivan, and is bound to become one of the great talked-about scenes of this year’s festival.
